I agree. Whenever you say something to the boy or friends, it’s a reaction. And that’s what they want. Good, bad, whatever. They are just pushing you and looking for anything. The best idea is to give them nothing. Stick to study group talk and just clam up when dating or whatever else comes along. You’ve got your own friends, your own life. Have fun there.

Yep, negative attention is still attention. *No* attention is the only alternative.

I might quip back, “So what’s wrong with you that you can’t ask her out? Be a man!” Razz him a bit on his lack of initiative (cojones) in front of his friends. With humor ideally.

You’re in college, surely you can find some other more mature people to hang out with out, can’t you?
